“I love the life I am creating.” –Marla J. Albertie
Welcome back to week 3 of a 4-part series of ideas of how to have “me time”this year. I hope you have started to implement the 10 ideas we have already discussed. You will discover some of the ideas may not fit your lifestyle, and that is okay. I welcome you to create your own “me time”ideas out of the ones I have developed or create completely new ones.
Let’s discuss this week’s five:
- Create a “Love Me” List.
This is something I started doing in 2015, and it has helped me through some tough times. This list became something profound in my life after my divorce in 2016. This is a list of five things you love about yourself. You can make a vision board or write them down. The idea is to have them in sight daily. You can hear more about my love list on the For Wives Only podcast here option #11:
2. Be a collector of things.
I love experiences; therefore, when I travel I collect magnets. I used to collect shot glasses, but my collection grew out of control. The magnets are more manageable. I also collect books, and I have a lot of them, A LOT! I always tell my friends that I am building my library, which I am. The point is to collect something to call your own and create your own memories.
3. Go thrifting
I have always been a fan of thrift stores. The amount of deals you can find are sometimes unreal. Here is an insight: many wealthy people shop at thrift stores. Many wealthy people want to spend as little as possible on clothing because it has little value. Go thrifting and see what gems you can find.
4. Have a regular mani/pedi done
I schedule one every two weeks. You can start off getting your nails painted, or you can do them yourself. The key is to make time to do it. Pamper yourself.
5. Schedule a massage
I try to get massages done twice a year. I am going to increase this number. Massages release stress and loosen tight muscles to help you relax. Groupon is another great resource for this.
Is your head spinning with ideas? I hope so.
Which one of these can you start today?
Let me know your thoughts…
See you next week for the last 5.
Keep winning and creating harmony in your life.
