Hello Awesome Working Woman,
Welcome back to Part 4, the final week of our 4-part series of life-changing questions you need to ask yourself this year. I want you to ask yourself about money. Even in today’s times it still seems taboo to speak about money or even to want more of it.
Money provides choices and choices can provide freedom. Don’t limit yourself when it comes to how much money you want to make.
“I have enough money and I don’t need more.” – Said no one ever
As always, be honest with yourself when answering these questions.
- How much money do I need to set aside for an emergency fund?
The golden rule is 3-6 months. Always pay yourself first.
- Am I using credit cards correctly?
Believe it or not, credit cards are not bad. If used correctly – meaning they are paid off monthly – you can collect massive points to pay for vacations and airline tickets.
- How much debt do I have?
This includes all credit card and student loan debt. Mortgage and car note are considered functional debt.
- How much can I save this month?
What is your goal?
- Do I have an online savings account?
Ally, American Express, and Smarty Pig all have great rates and they are great to save for emergencies because they are strictly online banks making it less convenient to access your money.
- When was the last time I checked my insurance rates?
Car, renters, homeowners, and life insurance rates can be checked annually.
- What can I buy less of this year?
This one can be hard, but it is necessary to do.
- Do I need cable tv?
With Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, you can save a fortune by dropping cable.
- Do I believe I can be wealthy?
You have to believe it before, you can do something about it. Being wealthy starts in the mind.
- Do I buy in bulk?
Mark Cuban swears by this. When you purchase in bulk you save on everyday items.
There are many other questions you can ask yourself about money. Take some time and think about your spending and money habits. Journal your thoughts. It is definitely an area I am going to pay more attention to.
I hope you have enjoyed this 4-part series on life changing questions you need to ask yourself. We have covered four major areas of life which are important factors in creating harmony in your life. Love this! Great questions and tips!
Thank you for reading!
These are great questions! One of the changes I want to make is with cable. I don’t know enough about streaming or the fire stick or even install it for that matter! For me personally it’s an issue of time I don’t have to figure out installation of a $30 item that can save me tons of cash. That’s the reality. Would welcome help lol
I 100% understand. I tried to get rid of cable myself but the offer I have to bundle saves me more because I will still need internet and security. I am sure there are other ways you can cut back. I did a lot of cutting back and now that extra money is going towards savings and credit cards.
